A high-powered delegation from higher education authorities in Senegal has paid a courtesy call on the Acting Director-General of GTEC, Professor Ahmed Jinapor Abdulai on Thursday November 9, 2023.
The team consists of Madam Dlaimouna Kounte, the Director for TVET, Mr. Sidy Ba, Director of Financing for TVET, Mr. Khady Abdalahi Faiz Ndoye, Chief of Pedagogy and Curriculum Division for TVET, Mr. Fataomata Diop, the Head of Quality Assurance at the National Quality Assurance for Higher Education (ANAQ), Mr. Cisse Abdoul Lafiate, Administration and Technical Coordinator (ANAQ), Mr. Boubacar Ndiaye, Head of Division and Private Institutions (ANAQ), and Madam Diane Papa Baba, Director for National Exams in Senegal.
The leader of the delegation, Madam Dlaimouna Kounte said they were in Ghana for the African Continental Qualifications Framework (ACQF) Training Workshop and decided to embark on a 2-day working visit to stakeholders of higher education in Ghana, starting with GTEC, to learn from their experiences and how their Quality Assurance and Accreditation Framework operate.
Prof. Jinapor Abdulai in welcoming the team said it was a privilege to receive them and hoped that whatever they learn from the visit will be of benefit to them. “The visit also marks the beginning of a beautiful relationship between the two countries and we will consider drafting an MoU to share experiences which will contribute to the development of tertiary education in Ghana and Senegal,” he said. He was with the Head of Credential Evaluation at GTEC, Mr. Maxwell Kissi, the Acting Head of PR and Protocol, Mr. Charles Mbeah and other senior officers.
GTEC also led the team to pay visits to the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations (MELR), the Centre for Distance Learning and Open Schooling (CENDLOS), the Ghana TVET Service and the Academic City University College (ACUC).
