Strengthening Educational Ties: Iranian Delegation Engages with GTEC

Strengthening diplomatic and academic ties, a high-profile delegation from the Iranian government engaged in a fruitful discussion with Prof. Ahmed Abdullai Jinapor, Director General of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC). The meeting, held at the GTEC headquarters, focused on forging collaborative efforts in higher education and exploring avenues for mutual growth.

The delegation included the Minister of Education for Iran, H.E. Dr. Hashem Dadashpour, Deputy Minister of Science, Research and Technology and Head of the Student Affairs Organization of Iran; H.E. Bijan Gerami, Ambassador of Iran to Ghana; Dr. Mohammad Mardani, Deputy Ambassador in Charge of Political Affairs; Dr. Ali Reza Kouhkan, Advisor to Minister of Foreign Affairs in Science Diplomacy; Dr. Muhammad Jawad Salmanpur, Deputy Head of Scholarship and Foreign Student Affairs; Dr. Mohammad Moazeni, Chancellor of the University of Shiraz Province; and Dr. Ahmad Alijanpour, Chancellor of the University of Urmia Province. On the Ghanaian side, Prof.  Ahmed Jinapor Abdullai and a representative from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission actively participated in the deliberations.



The purpose of the meeting centered around the potential collaboration between Iranian and Ghanaian universities through the GTEC framework. Discussions included academic partnerships, student and faculty exchanges, and the promotion of joint research initiatives.

A noteworthy development emerged with the announcement of scholarship opportunities by Iranian universities for Ghanaian students. These scholarships not only signify a commitment to fostering educational ties but also provide a gateway for Ghanaian students to access international education.

Prof.  Ahmed Jinapor Abdullai, expressing his optimism for the collaboration, assured the Iranian delegation of GTEC's unwavering support in facilitating these educational initiatives. He emphasized the mutual benefits for students and academic institutions in both nations, underlining the importance of international partnerships in the contemporary educational landscape.
